This year’s conference emphasizes the importance of healthy emotional leadership and lifestyle in our workplace, churches and at home. Our emotions tell us what is important so that we know what we need to do and be who we are. In our modern era where the world’s social imaginary fundamentally reshapes our values and attitudes, ruthless striving, self-centeredness, insecure attachments and addictive sexual behaviors are the orders of the day. If we cannot maintain a genuine emotional connectedness with our true self, we will suffer a pervasive sense that life is meaningless. Christians ought to know how to redeem our God-designed emotional thermometer to help us live, serve and relate more effectively.
